Chirchik in itself is a young city, but the valley of the river Chirchik, in which the city is, enters into number of the most ancient items of Republic Uzbekistan. The Chirchik -Tashkent oasis – one of the largest regions of east Uzbekistan in which was a culture of our people was forming. The river Chirchik carried in an antiquity the name "river Farak", Parak or the Turki since it has been occupied with Turkic tribes. Chirchik during the pre-revolutionary period interested imperial archeologists. In a valley of Chirchik traces of human life, since a paleolith are found. About a site of city there were two opinions. On one it was offered to build city on a so-called bottom terrace of the right coast of the river Chirchik, on the second – on the right, raised. The majority has supported the second offer. On May, 1, 1934 the official building of the city named after the rivers Chirchiks has taken place. The city was built for those who should work on hydroelectric power stations and members of their families. Therefore construction of dwellings and cultural and community objects should be finished by the moment of start-up of these enterprises. As well as all large construction to the USSR, Chirchik was constructed at cooperation and the help of all peoples of the USSR and, first of all, Russian people.
